Felt - Forever Breathes the Lonely Word

#400/2079
September 1986
Felt
Forever Breathes the Lonely Word
Genre: Lou Reed Meets The Smiths
4 out of 5

Highlights:
Rain of Crystal Spires
Grey Streets
All the People I Like Are Those That Are Dead

There is a wonderful retrospective bio on Pitchfork about Felt, Lawrence and, specifically, this record. I’ll link it at the bottom.
I agree 100% that this is the best Felt record so far. I hear latter day dream pop bands in it but also REM and the Paisley Revival bands of the era.
Lawrence isn’t my cup of tea but, if you like Lou Reed, Lawrence is better. His songs are, his poetry is, his production as well.
