If you’re gonna be punk you either have two choices, really: Take as aggressive a political stance as you can and thrash against authority or be as whacked out funny as you can muster. 

Adrenalin O.D. chooses the latter and we are all better for it. 

Yes, they thrash and bash and shout and all of that, but their sense of laceratingly dumb humor is spot on. It’s almost as if they know there’s no groupies and airplanes in this and that they are each gonna end up either selling insurance or taking over their parents’ import/export business and they don’t really care. It’s about angst and being as stoopid as possible. These guys either are or are trying to be the east coast version of The Dickies. 

They succeed. 

Much better than last year’s offering.

I swear to whatever god of the moment human beings have decided rule over them that if this fucking band can get a record deal, my college band just wasn’t fucking trying. (We weren’t, but damn it. we were at LEAST as funny as these guys.)

When my second band played SXSW we went to see a friend’s band. For no reason whatsoever the opening band was a scatalogical weirdness called “SHAT”. To my chagrin it was NOT a band based on the musical stylings of William Shatner. I’m thinking about SHAT because their music and show was about as ridiculous and hilarious as this.

Also, since it’s only available on Spotify and I am an Apple Music user, it’s kind of brilliant to have “Going to a Funeral” and “Corporate Disneyland” broken up by app commercials.
