Life

When you are a poli-sci major in England and also a musician you go where the action is. Poland, amirite?
Well, that’s where John Porter went. And then he started making rock albums and…they are perfectly fine but uninteresting straight up radio friendly rock. Kind of funky. Really meandering. Just sketches, really. With perfectly ok lyrics tacked on. None of it is bad, but it’s sort of totally forgettable.  “Refill” is okay. But it think that’s deceptive. The drummer is a freight train on the high hat and keeping me interested. And “I’m Just a Singer” is the Rick Springfield song Rick probably already wrote and Porter copped.
Other than that, this is the kind of hobby rock one would expect from an expat polo-sci major.
