Hey! I remember this song! One toe in the 50s revival and the other in 80s British blue eyed soul. In the late 90s I entered the Swing Scene. I took lessons at the Derby, learned East Coast Swing and spent 2 years having a blast. These guys would’ve made a killing during those days. If these guys came out 15 years ago they might’ve toured with Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on the Swing revival scene. Jools Holland would’ve definitely had them on his music show. He might’ve even sat in with them.
There are so many tunes I could highlight here because so much of this album is all joy. I mean the whole first side makes anything and everything Wham! wanted to be sit in the corner and weep out of jealousy. These guys know what they’re doing and they are doing it with youthful abandon.
I’m really surprised that this one gets lost in the shuffle.
