You know what band I miss? Killer Pussy. “Teenage Enema Nurses in Bondage”? I had that maxi single and adored it.
I also love the Pipettes. And the 5,6,7,8’s.

It seems like the Gymslips existed, then were split apart and became all those groups and a host of others. This is Donora and Cub (The band who wrote “New York” that They Might Be Giants covered). This is what the Runaways wanted to be but, for some reason, couldn’t. This is Joan Jett with the attitude but no snarl. The landscape of Rock is littered with girl groups who are great but disappear in a poof of “what happened”? That I’ve never heard of the Gymslips until now is evidence of that. And they cover a Suzi Quatro song, ffs.
This is a great record.
