I’ve never heard a Dokken record. (Until this project, I’d also never heard a Krokus record. Or a Saxon, Raven, on and on…) This 80s metal entry is as middling as one would expect. Capable musicians with epic choruses and echo drums…ho hum.
The best thing I can say about Dokken is that they inspired my friend, Mike’s 80s cover band’s name, “Rokken”. The worst I can say is that they sound like a second rate version of everything else from the 80s. Hair Metal was done but no one knew it…yet.
But you know what?
I kind of like it.
