The 1986 Listening Post - Felt - Let the Snakes Crinkle Their Heads to Death

Felt - Let the Snakes Crinkle Their Heads to Death

#263/1388
June 1986
Felt
Let the Snakes Crinkle Their Heads to Death
Genre: Instrumental New Age
1.5 out of 5

Felt must have looked to the future and seen my review of their last record cuz the singer is nowhere to be found on this pretentious piece of nonsense.
I could be grateful that it’s just 20 minutes long. And, sure, that should be classified as an EP but, for some reason we are going ahead with it. Only to beat up on Felt a bit more.
Look at that title. It suggests something awesomely aggressive and assertive.
And yet, they retitled this record The Seventeenth Century which, truth be told, is what it sounds like: the soundtrack to a BBC costume drama.
I have this playing on the Echo in the kitchen as I prepare dinner.
“This is horrible. Why must you torture all of us with this garbage?” is what my wife said upon entering the kitchen.
Points off for that!
