Delicious harmonies. Delectable guitar solos.

Who the heck were Wize? There is precious little info on them. But they had a record deal with someone and got distribution by an actual label (Vogue). And they write terrific little Power Pop tunes. When the lead lines are lacking John Maczynski la la la’s along with them.

The production team was top notch and knew how to pull the skinny tie out of these guys. And I enjoy this as much as I did Graduate, which was also a complete surprise.

What happened to Wize? There is a John Maczynski on Facebook who lives in Middleton, MA but he and I have no friends in common. We DO have friends who have friends in common but that could just seem weird. On the back of the album jacket the first name they thank is “Morris Levy”. Mo Levy.

These guys had the backing and the chops. I really wanna know what happened.

So sad. I really enjoyed this album. Well, the Mac songs. The bassist’s tunes are lacking.
