In that Foreigner/Rush vein comes Canada’s 451°.


I don’t have a helluva lot to add here. The landscape of the 80s (and probably the 70s, 60s, 90s, 00s, 10s….) are littered with bands that got together, finagled a record deal (something I couldn’t do), played music competently together and wrote a couple catchy, radio friendly tunes that, for whatever reason, didn’t break through. Despite the rule in Canada that 25% of the playlists must be Canadian groups. I think they scored a hit or two up there but, south of the 49th…not so much. 


Jethro Tull’s Martin Barre guests on a couple tracks here. So, there’s that.


You know what? Listen to “Santa Anna Winds” and tell me that Guns N Roses aren’t lurking underneath this…bridging the divide between Skynrd and Rose. Which was always there, people.
