Weekend Return

Winning Streak

Let Go

Someone wrote that this sounds like a punk version of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and, considering that I don’t care for ELP, I was really hesitant.

I’m glad I got past that.

Jon Moss, yes, Jon Moss of early versions of Adam and the Ants and, later, Culture Club, plays the drums here. The percussion is magical.

This band was formed when Moss left The Damned.

It’s hyperkinetic, that’s for sure.

Tracks like “Winning Streak” sound like they were reincarnated by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard 40 years later and I would not be surprised to learn that the Aussie band had heard this.

The B3 is a fucking dynamo on this thing.

There are no hits on this. Moss and the gang weren’t going to make the big bucks of, say, a “Do You Want To Hurt Me?”. So, in the end, it’s good that the moved on.

But this thing is extraordinary.
