The 1986 Listening Post - Ten Ten - Walk On

Ten Ten - Walk On

#149/1314
April 28 1986
Ten Ten
Walk On
Genre: U2
3.5 out of 5

Highlights:
When It Rains
Rags

You can not convince me that these guys didn’t hear every U2 album and decided to start a band.
But, you know what? I could find a way to say the same thing for The Alarm. And The Waterboys and the Furs and even The Cure at times. I’ve never heard of these guys but, that lead off track is freaking delicious. After that, it’s just a lot of lush stadium rock. That lane is best left to the guys who perfected it cuz, truth be told, they’re about to solidify their ownership of it.
The title track should result in royalty checks being cut to Bono and The Edge. Or a Cease and Desist. I like their cover of “Million Miles Away” but it really proves the relationship between The Plimsouls and U2 more than adding anything to it.
