As “Coleen” played I could smell the coffee as I noticed the din diminish as Martin played through his set only interrupted by the occasional clank of mugs being deposited into the sink in the back.
If he was, indeed, a coffee shop busker, he managed to capture what he must have sounded like perfectly on this record. It’s lost in 86. In 97 it could have been a smash.
