Quick Turns
Out of Oak Park, IL comes Off Broadway, a band that sounds like it really wanted to be Cheap Trick and they pull it off.
“All Right, Okay, You Win” is a Zander/Nielsen joint if I’ve ever heard one.
This is a strong Skinny-Tie record if I’ve ever heard one. As I’ve said many times, it’s a few years too late but, dammit if the Feiger doesn’t run strong in these kids.
Upon investigation, Tom Werman was the producer here and it shows. It’s clean and powerful and crisp if the songs aren’t hits. I could see myself or any other Power Popper getting this record and becoming a huge fan.
I would put this record on a stack with The Late Show and Producers.
“What is this, Allen?”
Oh, this? This is Quick Turn by Off Broadway. You like it?
“Yeah! But, what a shitty name!”
True, Evan, true.
