This would be great…if it wasn’t a direct rip of The Police’s sound.

Everything. The bass lines. The semi-falsetto. The faux-reggae. It’s like a Police cover band wrote their own songs.

This is a Police record. With heavier guitars.

Remarkable.

Remember when we all loved Men at Work but thought they sounded a LOT like Sting and the gang? This takes that sound and rams some herky-jerky new wave angles onto it and that makes it all the more delicious.

(Except for “Walnuts Moleteazerz”, that’s just bonkers. And the title track, which really should have been a single. And led off the record.)

The whole album is just one New Wave Power Pop smash after another.

A forgotten band that never really had a chance.
