Another front woman who would go on to work with other, bigger artists. Regina had a hit, “Baby Love” which isn’t here but this one has a ton of charm.
Regina’s tunes are equally home on the South jersey boardwalk as they would be covered by The Go-Go’s.
I would hasten that just about every tune here is better than the entire Patty Smythe catalog and, for the life of me, I don’t know why Regina didn’t have a bigger career. She write’s a darn good song, and the era was primed for this music. It’s not like she didn’t have the connections. Things just didn’t go the way they should have.
Side One is just a great power pop track after another, and then Side Two explodes with the rocker “Jealous”, a song unlike the pop of Side One.
The 40th anniversary album was just released this year and is terrific with a bunch of additional tracks that are equally as good as what she released on the original.
