Nervous Breakdown
You know, for all we talk about varieties of genres, power Pop, Post-Rock, etc, one thing that we just take for granted is the children of Springsteen.
With this crackling record, White Heat makes it’s play to be Bruce’s opening act. But, we all know…Bruce and his 3.5 hour shows don’t need no opener.
This time we get that pub rock sound with the energy and sensibility of early Jam if fronted by Joe Strummer.
This is a Brit band that made a little noise for a little minute and then…poof.
They fancy themselves practitioners of Power Pop epics (“Twenty One and Wasted”, among others) but they aren’t up to the 5 minute mark they demand.
But there’s jus enough fun here, like “Funny Suits”, to keep you interested.
