This is really all about that one song. The guy who wrote “Dream Weaver” came up with another top ten soft rock hit.
You know that sound that Rod Stewart started peddling around this time? Gary’s got that in spades. But I actually like his stuff a wee bit more. “Got the Feelin’” touches the edges of prog rock just where it’s somewhat easy to take for a 15 year old. Maybe that’s because Gary doubles down on the synth stuff without it sounding too cloying and pedantic.
I’ll give it to him, he’s trying. I don’t know who the audience for this is. But, you do you, Gary.
