I thought Les Dudek was a jazz guy. Who is he?
He played for Box Scaggs and Stevie Nicks and Steppenwolf and Steve Miller. He sounds just like a guy who be employed by those people. One listen to his guitar work on “Deja Vu (Da Voodoo’s in You”) and you get it. He’s a session guy with major chops.
And that’s what’s all over this record: opportunities for Dudek to show off his mettle. Are there songs? Sure. Do they matter? Not really. But what’s he gonna do? Just put out a record of lead guitar stuff?
