Hometown heroes get a record contract, the label wants them to change stuff, including their name. They do it but the locals think they are abandoning them in favor of Los Angeles and bad blood ensues.
This is like American Loverboy. It’s in that Eddie Money vein. A vein that has been bled pretty dry by this point in time.
The Wild Cherry white boy funk of the title track is atrocious.
Side Two is more rock and Power Pop, which, of course, fits my fancy.
The leader, Rich Spina, went on to be Peter Noone’s keyboardist and is playing out as one half of the duo, Spina and Sullivan. As I write this they have a show on the docket at Arnie's Clubhouse Grill 7599 Pearl Rd Middleburg Heights, OH.
Rock on, Rich.
