You’re Mine

Air Raid/Drill

Man, this lead singer reminds me of Dennis DeYoung.

This band is listed as “Hard Rock” in various places and…no. It’s not. It’s straight up 70s rock. Prog, even. Some of it is actually fun and exciting, though not the stuff of legend.

“You’re Mine” sounds like it wanted to be a hit but who would get it to the right people in 1981? It’s very 1978 Styx-at-their-zenith style. The glam of “I Love the Way You Look Tonight” calls to mind those great glam bands of the past.

This band was in the right place at the wrong wrong wrong time. Damn shame, they did a really good job with this weird thing.

I’m not going into the history of this one-off. As is often the case, the lead singer has a website and he keeps the flame burning over there. I’ll provide a link.

“Ballad of Anymore” sounds like Queen at their bombestic. And the closer, “Air Raid/Drill”…that’s a Rush-y prog adventure.

This album is a hoot.
