I’m betting that if you slow this stuff down a hair, take off the keyboards, what you end up with that opener is sort of standard stadium rock. But, it’s jittery and energetic and that’s a recipe for me to devour, as is probably known by now.
Following it up immediately with a tropical tinged novelty track, The Police by way of The Late Show track “I Love Lucy” seems odd but tells me that the group isn’t taking themselves or…anything really…too seriously.
It’s impossible to listen to “Life of Crime” and not hear the Cheap Trick influences. That is not a bad thing.
This thing just keeps rolling along like the lost Trick record you never knew you needed.
