The 1981 Listening Post - The Hawks - Hawks

 The Hawks - Hawks

#378

March 1981

The Hawks

Hawks

Genre: Rock

3.25 out of 5

Highlights:

Lonely Nights

If you didn’t know better, you’d absolutely think this was a lost record from some the opening act to Raspberries.

But the trouble is, guys, that sound is dead.

Kenny Nolan could have written for this band and added some teeth to his songs.

But not a lot of teeth, cuz these guys are gentle and poppy.

It takes a while for the album to get itself going.

“Lonely Nights” is the song that Cheap Trick would have been proud to put out.

In the end, this is music for Badfinger fans. Or Bobby Sherman fans.
