Jack Green

Reverse Logic

Genre: Rock

3 out of 5

Highlights:

Too Many Fools

Boy, Jack was a revelation last year, remember? His debut warranted a “discovery” rating. So, I kind of expected two things: A sophomore slump but also a set of good, if not great, songs.

“It’s a Hard World” comes across as 3rd tier Tom Petty and when he does get his juices flowing on “Let It Rock” I still feel like Jack’s phoning it in.

The Elvis Costello-esque “Too Many Fools” is a banger, tho.

The rest is just a bunch of forgettable rock songs that feel like it was performed by guys who wish they were in Rick Springfield’s backing band.
