Lordy there was a shit ton of music released in 84. And here’s more of it. This is the kind of record I might’ve found at Sounds in the East Village for $.25 and picked up searching for a hidden gem. More likely there would be no gems (there aren’t) and we would’ve scribbled out the name of the band with sharpie and masking tape, replaced it with “Yeast Infection” and handed it out at our one and only concert.
It’s pleasant enough stuff in the Eurythmics/Til Tuesday idiom but not clever enough to break through and that style of music is already done.
I feel like “Another Day in the Big World” could have been a cut on a Jonathan Demme movie soundtrack.
