Boy, is this title correct. I have no love for the Flesh Eaters. I think Chris D. requires way too much leniency and latitude for his pretentiousness when he’s leading the Flesh Eaters. On this, not only is he nearly impossible to listen to on that band but he’s like Conor Oberst if Oberst had no sense of humor or humility or recognition of his limitations. Listen to “Heat from the Sun” to learn what the title is about: Chris wants to be playing in a bar in 1955 at 1 in the morning but, since we are, at this point, 30 years removed from Beat Generation’s time, he’s going to push it out as a record and sell it to the punks.
I think I hate Chris Desjardins.
