Opening like the precursor to Crowded House or the heirs to latter day Split Enz, I've been looking forward to this. I was won over by Before Hollywood and this one is...well...it's a bit more pedestrian, isn't it? But, that's not entirely so, as the call and response of "Five Words" shows in contrast to the lush "Bachelor Kisses" which preceded it.
Pretty soon we settle in to what I can only describe as jam influenced songs. Especially around "Draining the Pool for You", which just sounds like the singer's making it all up as he goes.
This is a let down after Hollywood.
