Jeez, could Hunter sound more like Bowie? Right down to the sax the title track is like a Bowie cast off. A mid 70s Bowie castoff at that. Then he’s ELO. A touch of Sweet. With a dash of Springsteen. Is that Iggy? Wait, “Speechless” could be Sparks. What the he’ll is this thing? “Somethings Going On” is late 60s McCartney. Then he’s early 80s Bowie (Captain Void ‘N’ the Video Jets). It’s wild.
I don’t think Hunter ever has a personality of his own.
Or maybe he’s the father of it all.
I saw Hunter this year. Couldn’t recognize a single song, save for "All the Young Dudes" which was a pleasure to sing along to. But he seemed to be having a good time. Like he does here.
This album is much more fun than I was expecting it to be.

Maybe I’m just in a good mood but I really enjoyed this hodgepodge.
