The Body Album

Genre: Prog

3.25 out of 5

Highlights:

Brave New World

The closest any other group has come to sounding like Pink Floyd has always been Alan Parsons Project, right?

Nope. Step aside Alan. Here’s Body.

Only this album has flutes!!!  The Alliston brothers come up with a worthy entry into this genre, bouncing between epic prog to New Wave rock. There’s precious little about them or this album out there.

So, while there’s fun like “Brave New World” you also have to suffer through sub-par Spirit tracks like “Silver Lady”.

Like every good 70s progressive band they have an epic saga. In this case it’s “Andromeda”, a 14 minute meander the only thing I can say about is; smart to put that on Side two, guys. Not sure I would have turned the record over if it was on Side One.  But it’s not really a “song” as much as it’s a suite of about 4 songs. It’s fine in the background. I got work done.
