The 1980 Listening Post - Dome - Dome

 Dome - Dome

#285

July 1980
Dome
Dome
Genre: Industrial Off-Off Broadway.
1.5 out of 5

No. It’s not a musical. This ain’t Little Shop. This is not even The Performing Garage. Although, I would argue that it’s pretty damned close.
This is the sound of music that you would hear in an abandoned church basement on the lower east side, the actors may or may not be clothed, there is no real sense to what you are witnessing but, depending on your age, it’s either “Brilliant!” or “Derivative…” or “Pretentious.”OR, if you are over 22, it’s indulgent hot garbage and you’ve seen it all before and it was better when Cafe Le Mama did it and besides, you’ve seen one naked woman riding a pig and you don’t need to see any more of that, thank you very much.

Ugh, this is just so boring. And when you know that there are so many other, darker, angrier, more industrial bands out there and on the horizon, it’s just a waste of time.
