This is America.  You know the place.  It’s the America down by the Ventura highway where the horses have no name and the muskrats make sweet, sweet love.  Where the lonely Tin Man drinks from the silver cup and where you can do magic if your sister has golden hair.  And you know exactly what this America sounds like - perfectly strummed acoustic guitars, perfectly pitched harmonies, some perfectly tinkled ivories, perfectly forlorn bass slides, perfectly measured drums and a perfect smattering of the melancholy harmonica.  It’s perfectly fine music. This is America.

If you like your music perfectly fine - this one's for you.  Fair warning though, there are no hits here - those days are pretty much over. If you love America of the 70’s, you’ll probably be disappointed.  The America song formula has run its course and now we just get songs that *sound* like America.

I don’t ever need to visit this America again.

Also, I nominate this album as one of the worst album covers ever.
