I love that someone took the time out of their lives to enter the lyrics to Leden Zar’s record to Genius.com. And I love that the first track is so cynical and sardonic with lines like:
Feel the snow runnin' up my nose
You're so warm you wanna take off your clothes
Dive into my swimming pool
Man, things they really are cool
R-r-r-r-r-really cool
'Cause I know
Money talks loud
They follow that up with another jaded song about a groupie called “Backstreet Girl” and I gotta wonder, were they wishing this was their future or were they a band that kicked it around for a while, just enough to get a handle on how to be cynics?
Vintage Vinyl got it right: “If Poison rocked with some keyboards, they would have sounded a lot like Leyden Zar.”
Yep. This is Hair New Wave. Cheesy and kinetic and, as you probably know by now, I dig that stuff.
“Danger Zone” and “Mirrors” are what happen when a Hair band decides to be Gary Numan or The Cars circa 1979.
But they also know how to 1-4-5 Boogie Rock as evidenced on “Deadline”.
This album is in no way as good as I am making it out to be, I just really enjoyed the heck out of it.
Were they popular for 5 minutes in the Great White North? They sound like they would be.
