Dayglo Abortions

Out of the Womb

Genre: Punk

4 out of 5

In a few years most of this album will be rereleased as Feed Us a Fetus and we have already heard it. In the interest of completion I’m giving the first record a whirl but, to be honest, there’s no change here. It’s good solid punk.

I still love the stoopidness of “(Acting Like) Black Sabbath” because not only can these guy shred, they incorporate doom metal into their snot. It takes the piss right out of all the metal that takes itself sooooooo seriously.

The few tracks that didn’t make it to Fetus, “P.E.T.”, “East Indian” “Too Stoned to Care” don’t add anything nor do they detract. In some cases they sound like Ramones redux in others they sound like sketches.

It should be noted that the album is only half of this upload. It is NOT 55 minutes long. It’s about 30.
