Oh, 70s.
How many musicians from that era think, “Jeez, if it was 2021 we could have just come out with what we wanted and been honest and graphic?” Or, did they think, “These young kids, they don’t understand that it’s a talent to hide your true intentions behind metaphor?”
I believe they think the latter. Egos tend to be that way. And this album smells like ego.
It’s all Journey, REO, Styx, Queen pomp without the songs or charisma.
If you are going to try any of this to see what I’m talking about, Imma recommend “Take Me To Your Leader”. It’s the most pompous and vacuous of all the songs. Or the Boardwalk Glam of “She Used To Be Mine”.
