Lately there seems to have been a dearth of good ROCK. Arena, Power, Stadium, any of it. The leftovers of 1980 have all felt like…leftovers.
This one’s a little different. Take the better parts of Yes and Journey and Styx and Kansas and Boston and Thin Lizzy and put it into a salad and you might get Grand Prix.
And I mean that in an endearing way. This is exactly the kind of music that it’s supposed to be. And it’s right on time, but the songs aren’t as catchy or schmaltzy as those other groups.
But, heck, it’s pretty good stuff.
