A few years back there was a band called Diamond Nights. They had one pretty damned good album of 21st century New Wave, Popsicle. And then they were never heard from again. The more New Wave tracks here remind me of Diamond Nights.
But the rest comes across like warmed over Nick Gilder.
I don’t know much about the band and I was quite surprised when the female lead vocals took center stage after almost an entire side of…well…not being that.
But she’s mostly featured on the most unctuous balladry, or she blends into the other tracks which are unmemorable.
