Paul Hyde and the Payola$ - Here's the World for Ya

Paul Hyde & The Payolas
Here’s the World for Ya
Genre: Pop Rock
2.5 out of 5

Highlights:
It Won’t Be You

This is a rough one. We can only find 5 of the tracks from this but maybe that’s not a bad thing since it’s as pedestrian pop rock as you can find. No surprise, this was the Payola$ attempt at the brass ring. Produced by David Foster, it has his signature touch all over it. The thing that this gave to the world is Bob Rock who would go on to produce some of your favorite music of the 90s, especially Metallica’s Black Album. Not your favorite? The 90s will be interesting, I bet.
If you listen to “You’re the Only Love” and realize that this is co-written by the guy who played all the bass parts on Metallica’s St. Anger, you might have an aneurysm. (He also played and produced Motley Crue’s Dr. Feelgood album.
Our highlight is a nexus point of Bob (Metallica, Motley Cure) Rock, Paul Hyde, David Foster, Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. That’s a lot of talent to write…well…not a bad pop rock song.
