Lee Aaron - Call of the Wild

June 27 1985
Lee Aaron
Call of the Wild
Genre: Rock
3 out of 5

Highlights:
Hot to Be Rocked

I think, recognizing that Pat Benatar has abandoned the female rocker space, Lee has decided to fully embrace it. Even more than before.
She’s enlisted Bob Ezrin to amp up that KISS sound and…well, it sounds like a female KISS band.
On some tracks, like “Barely Holding On”, I swear she is aiming for the Bonnie Raitt lane but, also to be lead in a Rock and Roll Broadway Musical.
It wouldn’t be a bad thing if the songs were there. But there’s no Jim Steinman for her. The songs are serviceable but forgettable.
Betty Blowtorch will perfectly emulate the sound of “Hot to Be Rocked” 16 years later before she died in a car crash.
