Struggler
It Was a Very Long Conversation but at the End We Didn't Shake Hands
Genre: Post-punk
3.75 out of 5 (I want to go to 4 but I just couldn’t latch on to a lot of this)
Highlights:
The Past Won’t Burn
Tribal rhythms? Check.
Minimalist approach? Pretty much.
Droning + wailing vocals? Oh, yes indeedy.
There is a song here called “Infinite”. It perfectly describes the time passing listening to this.
Somewhere there is an abandoned loft in an urban area of a city that has run afoul of bad debts and even worse choices. The people that frequent this are either the unloved and emotionally abandoned or they are the tourists who want to run with that crow (like the object of interest in “Common People”).
This is their house band as the night devolves into a morass of passed out bodies overdosing from low grade heroin.
