THe 1980 Listening Post - Aviator (UK) - Turbulence

 1980 Housekeeping

by Tom Mott

Aviator (UK)

Turbulence

Genre: Melodic AOR

Rating: 3.4 out of 5

Highlights:

Way of the World

Unexpectedly catchy melodic AOR with just enough bite to keep it fun. Imagine if Bad Company had soldiered on with a dynamic, polyrhythmic drummer. The lead singer has one of those soothing mid-range scratchy voices (Robert Palmer, Peter Gabriel, Colin Hay), but the main attraction here is original Jethro Tull drummer, Clive Bunker, who makes this worth a listen (if not a repeat listen).

Cool album cover. Cool band logo. They sound doomed to play in the touring bands of more famous peers--and I bet they've all loved every minute of it.
