Part of this band will go on to create Hoodoo Gurus and we should all be thankful for that. What this is, however, is a very precursor to something great, even if you have to wait for it for a couple years. Now, I have found The Scientists to be a bit hit or miss in the 80s and of course I have loved most of what I’ve heard from the Hoodoos. But, this is really just a post-paisley, post-rock, garage band with some okie doke songs set to what sounds like either electronic drums or a programmed machine and that reallllllllllllly dates it.
Which is a shame cuz I found tracks like “Sorry Sorry Sorry” and “High Noon” and “Larry” to be rambunctious fun, but saddled with the tech of the day.
