There is NOTHING on the web that I can find about this band save for the Rate Your Music entry. Who were they? How did they land a deal with A&M, put this album out and another and disappear forever?

Not a whiff.

Let’s drill down.

Ok. I have to admit that I totally dig this kind of driving glam metal sound so I’m already enjoying it while I seek out info…

Found it!

Here’s an interview with Lead Singer Steve Johnstad and it’s great. https://sleazeroxx.com/interviews/steve-johnstad-interview/

This is the sound of a hard rock band living in New York. “Life in Space” is the kind of rock disco you would hear coming out of clubs that wanted to mine the Blondie well but were more metal than pop. More latter day Kiss than early days.

Great stuff in that interview, like how they never toured either record but for the second…”I also found out later, that most of the money to support the tour, and promote the record, had instead, been used to fund a flower shop for the wives of the EMPIRE guys.”

And

“Our first record release party was a combined party for ROBIN LANE, and MARTIN BRILEY held at Mikes lower west side apartment.”

Classic.

Whaddya know? Steve Johnstad and I have a mutual friend on Facebook. Weird.

This is exactly the kind of guitar slinging rock, shrieking vocals rock that I love about bands like Station.

Nice find for Allen.
