I was going to go to bed.
I’d made a successful dinner of homemade meatballs and gravy and the kids actually ate it. Well, the meatballs. It’s been a long day, after a long week, with no end in sight because of the goddamned CoronaVirus. (This was written on March 22, 2020, fyi)
Then, I did the stupid thing of looking up an old acting acquaintance of mine. Didn’t really know him, just at occasional auditions.
Learned he died of some rare nasal cancer, spent the last year without a nose.
Just the kind of ending to a day that was part success part horror show.
Then I looked up this record, just in passing cuz I needed a distraction. It’s a short one but, when the blogger at Willfully Obscure mentioned how it reminded him of Rite of Spring, well, fuck you Covid-19, I’m gonna listen, dammit.
Yep. Terrific. If this comes out 10 years later…well, maybe it’s not a huge hit but more people would know about it.
