Rock and Roll’s Got a Hold On My Soul

Jerry Doucette is a Vancouver stalwart. He only recently retired to spend more time with his 10 grandchildren. At least that’s what he wrote on his Facebook page.

I don’t know how I feel about hiring a better singer to put lead vox on a few tunes on your record but I guess Jerry was busy cuz he plays rip roaring guitar AND bass on a lot of these tracks. Joh Roles is a pretty good rock screecher but, all told, Jerry, you’re fine.

Maybe you just can’t do everything.

A fine guitarist. Adequate bassist. Rock by the numbers songwriter. There are worse albums.

*I didn’t really need “It Only Hurts the First Time” but I also don’t need fun.’s “It Gets Better”, which is the same theme only even more obnoxious.
