Look at that mug. How on earth did Billy not become a huge star when Chris Isaak did? Burnette plays music that would have placed him on a Sock Hop Bill with Elvis and the rest if somehow those universes had merged. That’s not to say Billy’s sound is antiquated…but it does pay more homage to the Eddie Cochran era than even Stray Cats, who, as well all know now, were the razor’s edge of this sound.
But Billy fits nicely on your shelf along with Brian and the boys.
