I would like to officially retire the following phrases:
"Back in the day" & "At the end of the day".
Now, the latter makes more sense, but after listening to PT Anderson use it 497 times in the accompanying behind the scenes disc for Magnolia I have to wonder if he was in some bet to insert the word into the culture.
Cruise's character uses it in the film as well and somehow this annoying sentence has ingratiated itself into our lexiculture. I want it stopped.
As for Back in the Day. What day? When? Shut up.
I would appreciate it if everyone would help me with this.

The greatest doctor's visit EVER!

Just got an email that Universal has found this video and claimed the audio content. Which I thought would tear it down. However:
"Your video is still live because UMG has authorized the use of this content on YouTube. As long as UMG has a claim on your video, they will receive public statistics about your video, such as number of views. Viewers may also see advertising on your video's page."
So, I guess they figure, publicity is publicity. Can't beat em, join em.
If they tell me to take it down, of course, I will. Until then, we're still trying to get to 50,000 views.

Overheard: Los Angeles.

Lenny Kravitz lookalike. Sitting outside the Ralph's on La Brea across Trader Joe's. Eating a salad, talking on his iphone. Stylishly ripped jeans, sandals, rock star sunglasses, chestnut colored skin either from fortunate birth or expensive tan.
Verbatim:

"Yeah, well, I think we're all going...it's for [name witheld], the porn star's birthday...we're going to go up to Santa Barbara for a wine tasting...I think we'll probably all get a few rooms...I don't know...I can ask. I didn't think you would want to...okay, well, if you can get there, I think you can come...okay. All right, then. Okay, I gotta go, too. Love you, mom. Bye."

The second part. I might part the rest but this is freaking amazing. It was a full year before Andy was on Taxi. He was barely known. I remember this show and his Tonight Show and SNL appearances. Thinking back, Andy Kaufman might have been partially responsible for my comic worldview. The late 70's were heady times for pop culture. I think we shant see an era like that again.
