I’ve Been Away
In the great vein of edgy mod revival bands ala The Vapors, Fingerprintz, The Jags and so many others, here’s Purple Hearts. The guitars shimmy, the snare pops, the bass is melodic and the lead singer is the right amount of skinny tie new waver. They all have really tight pants with sippers all over the place. Mod haircuts that look like their mums did them at home, they get a shot on Top of the Pops but their lip syncing is terrible.
I wish the tunes were there cuz all the other materials are. They should have covered a Monkees song. I’m serious. That’s what this is lacking.
