Pearl Harbour - Don't Follow Me, I'm Lost

Pearl Harbour
Don’t Follow Me, I’m Lost
Genre: Adorabilly
3.25 out of 5

Highlights:
Fujiyama Mama
Everybody’s Boring But My Baby
The Dentist (Mislabeled as Heaven is Gonna Be Empty)

I don’t know the previous incarnation of this group. What I read is that the lead singer relocated, rejiggered, recast and resurfaced with this nostalgia tinged retro-billy nugget. Not assertive enough to latch on to the burgeoning scene, I guess Pearl fell into the chasm. Somehow I think she could have latched on to a Stray Cats bill and maybe moved some units but the sound is a bit tinny and she can’t decide if she wants to go for that Spector wall or the dry late 70s Springsteen sound. So, it ends up being less than effective.
