Ok. Kudos to the research staff at The Listening Post, they really put in the extra mile with this one.
Not only is this album realllllllly hard to find, it had to be cobbled together from various YouTube videos, but it’s also the strangest of ducks we have covered. Because it’s not really an album. It’s a series of demos that were recorded by the guitarist for Quicksilver Messenger Serves (a band that lost the narrative in the mid 80s, as we saw in 86), with some friends in what I guess is his garage. Then he sent the demos to a label in Germany that stitched together a record out of it.
And, it’s what you’d expect from a late 60s disciple of prog and Hendrix and Deep Purple and Page. It’s “Classic Rock” but lacking charisma or perspective outside of just playing music. So, it is what it is, but what it isn’t is inspired.
