Oh I really wanted to love this. 

I mean the opening track, “Cucukoland” is so so so New Wave Theater synth-rock. It’s super delicious and the record just keeps pounding that four on the floor not quite Abba, not quite M, Disco cum New Wave. Whatever Vangelis has been trying to do on his solo records, Data figured out and did it much much better.

The title track is a cinematic masterpiece of synthetic dystopia. All those records that wanted to evoke 1984, like Wakeman’s, can’t hold a candle to “Opera Electronica”.
