Joe Head - Pincer Movement
#274
1981 Housekeeping
Joe Head
Pincer Movement
Genre: Weird for Weird’s Sake
2.25 out of 5
Requisite 80s Cover: “Wimoweh”. A broken down reinterpretation of an interpretation. It’s probably the best thing on here.
At some point in time Television Personalities were actually good. I liked their 1981 record. Guest Reviewer Brian San Marco didn’t hate it.
What I didn’t know was that that band, which put out a terrible record a few years later, was made up of the likes of Jowe Head and Nikki Sudden.
Now, I don’t care for Nikki all that much but I really really really hate his Residents cum Henry Cow Zappa wannabe compatriot Head.
If you like droning post-rock warblings where people just garble the word “Crawfish” over and over, this is for you. (Or “Kyrie Eleison”….set to feeback and a parade snare)
Zappa taught me to hate him.
By transitive property, I loathe Mr. Head now as well.
Repetitive and boring.
